Russian-French Metallogenic Laboratory has been founded by Vernadsky State Geological museum and BRGM in 2004. The Laboratory has the status of the independent non-profit association.

The goal of the Laboratory is the realization of the effective scientific collaboration between Russian and French geologists in the fields of geophysics, 3D modelling of the Earth's crust, geoinformation systems’, and metallogeny.

The main activities of the lab relate with regularities of large ore deposits'location.

Investigations are being based on the up-to-date theories and knowledge on deep structure of the Earth's crust, using advanced methods of geological and geophysical data processing and interpretation.

The Laboratory is open for cooperation in:

• Inventory and management of mineral resources;
  
• Research of the endogenic ore-forming processes;
  
• Invention of new prognostic methods for large and superlarge ore accumulations on the basis of regional geological, geophysical data' analysis .
