French Embassy in Moscow supports scientific cooperation of Vernadsky Geological museum and BRGM since 2001, and participats in undertakings and projects of the Lab.

     The work under State contract "To develop technology for prognosis of large buried ore objects in the frames of crystalline shields" has started in 2006.

     The main goal of the Foundation is propaganda and support of scientific ideas, development of which could considerably influence mankind future.

     It is leading organization of Ministry of Natural Resources of Russian Federation in the field of Regional Geology and regularities of mineral deposits allocation.

     Institute of Geology was founded in December 1960. The first director was P.A. Borisov. Now it is state organization, and as independent structural unit is a part of Karelian Scientific Center RAS.
